index limiter

The index limiter (also known as inflation stabiliser) is a proposed mechanism designed to limit the annual increases to paid earnings-related pensions. It is not yet in effect, as the relevant legislation is currently being prepared.

The index limiter would be applied if the earnings-related pension index grows faster than the wage coefficient over a two-year period.

The index limiter acts as an automatic stabiliser, aiming to slow down the growth of pension expenses. It could be introduced in 2030 at the earliest.
