As a rule, freelance work is temporary work done for many different ordering parties. A freelancer can be either a self-employed worker or an employee.

If you are a freelancer in an employment relationship, you are insured under the Employees Pensions Act and your employer takes out the insurance. If you are a self-employed freelancer, you insure your own work under the Self-employed Persons’ Pensions Act.
